Sherry is the Practice Administrator for our team which encompasses many areas as it relates to patient care.  From the very first "Hello", her main concern is that her patient’s needs are met.  Whether it be comfort, financial, scheduling, insurance, or you name it, the chances are she's already done it or it is in her "to do" pile and will be done by the end of the day.  Another area of her focus is the team.  If the team's needs are met and they are happy then that makes for a great day, and patients notice the positive energy because of her efforts.  The last target of her focus in the office (but definitely not least)  is on Dr. Mason, so that all of his focus can be on his patients and not the cares of running the business.  Sherry was one of Dr. Mason’s first patients in dental school at the University of Kentucky over 27 years ago, and she wants all of his patients to experience the highest level of attention and care that she has known for almost 3 decades.

Sherry is the daughter of a former foreman at the Ford Motor Company in Louisville, KY and was transplanted to a 200 acre dairy farm in rural Green County, KY in her early teenage years.  Her hard work on the farm taught her principles that allowed her to be a great American success story.  Thanks to her Mom and Dad, she was one of the first in her family's history to go to college.  Sherry’s dad encouraged her to go to pharmacy school and in May 1983, she graduated with a B.S. in Pharmacy.  That was a good year for Sherry because in August of 1983, she married Dr. Mason and embarked upon one adventure after another.  From Kentucky to North Carolina, she has followed him and watched him develop into one of the finest dentists that patients can have.  The main reason she feels this way is that early in his career, he was so focused on developing his clinical skills that he neglected the necessity of building relationships with his patients.  She helped him realize that the relationship is where all the fun is in dentistry.  Though, he had such extraordinary talent which is exemplified by all of his achievements, Sherry felt he failed to realize early on that there were other criteria patients use when choosing a dentist.

Through talking with many patients, Sherry knew that it wasn’t enough to do excellent dentistry and it wasn’t that Dr. Mason did not have a great chair side manner, but she helped him see that there was a time to visit with a “friend" and a time to focus on the “friend's” treatment.  Thanks to Sherry, Dr. Mason has become a great listener to his patients as is attested in all the testimonials on this website.  She makes sure all of his patients are taken care of and that the answer to the daily question, "Did we make everybody happy today?" is emphatically YES!  That is our team's goal and she makes sure you feel it every time you walk out the door.
